Hi, Bucket List Nation readers! I’m Kelsi, blogger at A La Mode, and I live in Arkansas. I’m a student at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and I’d love to share with you some of the beauty and culture in and around this unique town.
Fayetteville has a little bit of everything: a thriving local music scene, an impressive entertainment district for a town of its size, college sports, and plenty of parks, mountains and trails for the outdoor enthusiast. Want to hear about some of my favorite spots around town?
One of my favorite boutiques is Grey Dog, a vintage boutique that is run out of a 1973 Airstream trailer. It’s perfect.

The cross on Mount Sequoyah is visible from all over town. It’s such a peaceful place to be, and the views of the city, from on top of the mountain are very pretty.
Momma Dean’s Soul Food is a local favorite. They serve smothered fried chicken, collard greens, hot water cornbread, Kool-Aid, mashed potatoes &gravy and several more Southern dishes. Oh, and they have the best sweet tea around.
Dickson Street is right in the heart of Downtown Fayetteville. It’s the only place I know of where you can go to the bar, listen to live music, eat great food, shop at numerous boutiques, and go to church all within about a one-mile stretch. One of my favorite places on Dickson is the book store.
My favorite game to play is “Find Your Way Out of the Dickson Street Bookshop.” It’s hard. Trust me.
Fayetteville is a great place to be. I’m so glad I’ve been lucky enough to spend my college years here.
